My name is Ryan Eng, Director of Photographer and Camera Operator based in Los Angeles, California.
Reflecting on my past, a sense of joy fills me when I recall the beautiful memories exploring the hallowed halls of the Art Institute of Chicago. It was during these youthful moments of transformation, in the midst of awe-inspiring artworks, that I truly connected the extraordinary power of visual art; tracking with the creator as they asked us to explore and connect through our individual lens the concepts of community, environment, and self.
As a shooting DP and collaborative storyteller for commercial, narrative and documentary work; I take great pride in the responsibility of visually translating and delivering exceptional narrative concepts through masterful execution in lighting, camera composition and movement—tapping into audiences' emotion and memory recall with goals to: strengthen a brand’s domestic/global stance, expound characters and/or relationship and showcase/demand a call to action in each genre of work.
My reputation is founded on the strength of cultivating meaningful connections. I seek to partner with teams to create works that evoke a sense of connection; bringing viewers in close as we showcase the captivating and intangible — the "je ne sais quoi" qualities that quietly breath life into scenes.
